Tips for Remote Sales

December 9, 2021

Remote sales may not have been a big part of your sales repertoire in the past, but in the age of Covid-19, remote sales are necessary even if you’re selling to the business three doors down. Finding ways to make remote selling work for you has become absolutely essential to your overall sales success. Here are some tips to help you learn how to sell remotely effectively.

Use the Right Tool

A phone and an email address may have been all you needed to close the deal in the past, but you need more tools to succeed in remote sales in today’s oversaturated market. Ideally, you will use a tool that enables the prospect to view your pitch without having to set aside a scheduled time.

Sending a Slidecast presentation pitch is the perfectway to give a prospect all of the information that they need to consider your product or service at their own pace and on their own time.

Be Persistent

If you’re only making a couple of calls and then assuming that your prospect isn’t interested in what you have to offer, you aren’t trying hard enough. As many as 80% of sales need at least five follow-up calls in order to make the deal.

Once you send your Slidecast presentation pitch, check the analytics to see which slides the client spent the most time on. Reference the points of the presentation that were most interesting to the client when you make your follow-up calls to make a sale or call back more likely.

Keep it Brief

People have short attention spans in the best of circumstances, and when you are communicating remotely, those attention spans get even shorter. After all, people have lots of distractions when they are meeting with you remotely.

Therefore, you want to make your pitch and follow-up conversations as brief and pointed as you can. Make sure to ask questions to keep the client talking instead of speaking into a void.

Make the Most of Remote Sales

For salespeople, who often tend to be people-centered and thrive on face-to-face interaction, the transition to largely remote sales is not a welcome one. However, by using the right tools, being persistent, and keeping interactions brief, you may actually find that you can increase your sales success when selling remotely.
